"Little" Bill McCrary, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at Hunt Regional Hospital of Greenville. He was 67. Bill was born December 26, 1952 to Bill McCrary, Sr. and Mary Jane Ruff McCrary. He graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce. He was a longtime owner of the Western Auto store in Quinlan, and also the owner-operator of the Two Mile Marina at Lake Tawakoni. Bill was a member of the Terrell Rifle/Gun Club, the Trestle Board Masonic Lodge in Quinlan, the Quinlan Economic Development Board, the Quinlan Ford High School Golf Association and was a member and the song director of the First United Methodist Church of Quinlan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Robert Ruff McCrary. He is survived by his wife, Kathy McCrary of Quinlan, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Laura McCrary of Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Rich McDowell of Argyle, Texas; an uncle, Silas McCrary of DeKalb, Texas; three grandchildren, Rhett McDowell, Reese McDowell and Ava McCrary; and numerous other relatives and friends. "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!" Celebration of Life will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at The Meadows Event Center at Peninsula Ranch in Quinlan, Texas with Pastor Mark Moore and Rev. Stacey Smith officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Woodmen Cemetery Pavilion in DeKalb, Texas. Mr. McCrary will lie in state at Bates Family Funeral Home in DeKalb, Texas on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
