VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - One person is dead following a fire Wednesday in Van Zandt County.

Van Zandt County officials are investigating the fire at Holiday Marina, north of Wills Point.

The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office received a call of a possible cardiac arrest Wednesday about 4:52 a.m. at Holiday Marina on Lake Tawakoni. Due to the caller being hysterical, very little information was able to be acquired prior to Champion EMS and law enforcement arrival.

When first responders arrived, they determined that the victim, a 54-year-old male, was found deceased in the recreational vehicle. First responders reported there had been a fire inside the RV. Fire Marshal Chuck Allen and Deputy Fire Marshal Danny Wilson were called to the scene and it was determined that the fire originated in the rear of the RV near a oxygen concentrator.

There appeared to have been a small explosion inside the trailer. The fire self extinguished itself. Due to the family being notified, no name is being released at this time, the department said. The victim was pronounced dead by Van Zandt Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Herbert Dunn and transported to the medical examiner's office in Tyler, for a forensic autopsy by Allan Fuller Funeral Home out of Wills Point.

The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation. No other injuries were reported. The victim stayed alone at Holiday Marina in the RV.
